Cell blocks in San Quentin have names or perhaps warning signs: “Little Viet Nam”, “Death Alley”, “Okay Corral”. The prison itself has an appropriate nickname given to it by inmates: “The Arena”.
Prison must be more difficult on the rich folks more so than the peasants.
It's a very large fall from jet flying, limo riding, corporate dollar rolling to the slammer. Not only is it a long way to the top, as ACDC says, but also a big fall when you get there.
The correctional facility will issue Madoff a prison number, orange jumper and bedding. Madoff's cellmate has already been determined by his fellow inmates.
And he's not even there yet.
