The First Annual World Canvas Awards has been launched. A new online art show that promotes contemporary artists to the world’s leading art galleries, curators, publishers, editors and art dealers.
While providing the perfect showcase for new works from established artists, World Canvas Awards devotes itself to the discovery of emerging talent and exhibits the finest paintings from participating artists to captains of the industry from Phaidon Press to Andipa Gallery in London and more.
“Finally, artists from around the world will have an opportunity to gain international recognition and have their work celebrated by the most influential galleries and dealers in this first-of-its-kind art contest that will kick start new careers and open industry doors for these amazingly talented artists.” said Basil O’Brien, Creative Director of the awards show.
Winners will be chosen in 31 categories by members of the awards international Jury and receive the coveted World Canvas Statue, $10,000 prize money, Rising Star Award, Creative Excellence Prize, international press and exposure, publication in the Awards magazine and on exhibition at a to-be-announced gallery.
The international art community will pay tribute to the most outstanding paintings of the year at the First Annual Winners & Nominee Show, presented live online September 2010.
