Stem cells are breathing new life into dogs that have arthritis.

A Westlake veterinarian is using a new procedure that harvests a dog or cat’s adult stem cells.

It has made a big difference for 15-month-old Theo, a white German shepherd mix. Just six months ago, the dog could not run.

“Theo wasn’t desired,” said Randy Gram, Theo’s owner. “He had a really bad limp, and his prognosis didn’t look good, which meant the people were going to take him to the pound.”
