Political parties in British Columbia have so thoroughly informed voters of their provincial platforms they can bicker about FaceBook profiles.
What’s inappropriate and not.
For now resigned NDP candidate Ray Lam posting so called naughty personal photos on FB is too much for a city that prides itself on their ability to get nude more than the average Canadian outdoors. Quebeckers have the distinction of indoors.
Is it shocking the provincial NDP’s gay, trans, bi, activist candidate had photos of himself enjoying both a female and male partner privates? Which BTW were fully clothed.
No.
Attacking Ray Lam’s FaceBook profile is easy for understaff underpaid overworked media hacks who also want to spend time social networking not reading polical party platforms.
Have mainstream media viewed hottie BC Green Jodie Emery bikini clad poster for Ron Paul?
Guess media and opposing political party’s approve of her judgement to support Ron Paul?
A privacy setting might’ve helped here.
As the Liberals claim the issue is about.
The Liberal’s claim the photo demonstrates bad judgement on Ray Lam’s part.
Not throwing billions of dollars into the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Racking up a huge debt that when bidding Vancouver politicos claimed wouldn’t happen.
Hah.
To the Liberals former NDP candidate Ray Lam should’ve kept the photos hidden from the public.
Like the Liberals platform.
True politicians want to keep the public from seeing the true agenda. Leading them to someone’s open bedroom, but not their political bedroom.
Whereas people who actually have solution to their community problem don’t stand a chance against a well oiled political machine.
Afterall politics is messy.
Ray Lam and the NDP need to suck it up.
Instead of fighting back with a massive FaceBook campaign the party caved to traditional media that can’t even support itself.
An FB campaign probably could’ve easily outdid traditional media.
After all reporters are reporting on the happenings of an instant online happening.
If television makes newspaper seem out of date does Twitter out date television?
Social media is more exciting, dramatic and participatory.
It’s two way communication.
Sadly NDP party officials admit they have no social media clue.
A John McCain esq gaffe.
Wouldn’t it be great if politicians FaceBook profiles were as open as Ray Lam’s?
Containing nothing but them smiling politely shaking hands with their corporate backers.
And political allies.
Then we’d see what’s really going to happen when they get elected. Not what they like to do on a Saturday night.
