Prison must be more difficult on the rich folks more so than the peasants.
It’s a very large fall from jet flying, limo riding, corporate dollar rolling to the slammer. Not only is it a long way to the top, as ACDC says, but also a big fall when you get there.
The correctional facility will issue Madoff a prison number, orange jumper and bedding. Madoff’s cellmate has already been determined by his fellow inmates.
And he’s not even there yet.
Here’s hoping Madoff gets media mogul Conrad Black, who prisoners, I understand from sources, refer to as Lord Blackie.
Madoff can expect to get his own prison name.. Madoff just doesn’t have the prison name slang that rings off cold drab prison walls. Given the average prisoner won’t understand what the hell a Ponzi Scheme is, they’ll most likely refer to Madoff as The Ponz or Ponzi.
Of course Madoff will then be required to give the thumbs up and ‘Go Eh.’ Investors, or marks if you use the carnie term, bought into his ability to fix the stock market like Happy Day’s Fonzi fixed the juke box.
